Since beginning her extraordinary journey by opening her own boutique in 2010, she now finds herself fully immersed into the magic of the bridal world, designing her dream collections specifically catered to the contemporary bride. Utilising high quality, unique and detailed fabrics, Bo Lee is renowned for her versatile array of styles, ranging from sleek modern cuts oozing with sophistication, to fuller skirts which exude that universally adored whimsical, romantic flair.
How exactly does she do it, and what was it that inspired her to take that all-important leap? We spoke with bridal phenomenon Bo Lee herself to find out more.
It’s clear that you have been on an incredible journey as a bridal designer. What was it that sparked your passion for bridal, and how has the Bo Lee brand evolved since then?
My journey into the captivating world of bridal fashion began with the creation of my own wedding gown. Bo Lee Collection has since evolved organically, drawing inspiration from the diverse tales and feedback of contemporary brides who embody everyday elegance.
Talk us through your creative process. What influences you most when you are designing?
The creative process is a dynamic dance of inspiration, fuelled by the personal narratives shared by the brides I assist. Within the confines of my studio, a sanctuary of creativity, ideas take flight, and the magic of design unfolds.
We are incredibly excited for your Spring 2024 collection to be on display at White Gallery! What was your initial inspiration, and what should retailers expect to see from it?
The Spring 2024 collection is a homage to my mother’s innate style, a reflection of the chic elegance that permeated my formative years. Each piece encapsulates the fusion of nostalgia and modernity, embracing timeless beauty with a contemporary twist.
If you could dress any celebrity for their wedding day, who would you choose and why?
When envisioning a celebrity bride, Zendaya stands out as the epitome of grace and trendsetting style. Dressing her for the big day would be an absolute dream.
What sets Bo Lee designs apart?
What distinguishes our designs is the artful fusion of ethereal lightness and impeccable structure. Our gowns are a celebration of the modern bride’s desire for grace without compromise.
Which Bo Lee gown did you most enjoy designing and why?
Crafting the ’Aera’ gown was a poetic journey, meticulously selecting fabrics and adorning the dress with intricate 3D flowers. It stands as a testament to the artistry that defines the Bo Lee Collection.
Out of curiosity, do you have a particular piece within your own wardrobe that you feel completes every outfit?
Amidst a wardrobe not laden with excess, my most cherished possession is my engagement ring. Its subtle elegance complements any ensemble, becoming a daily symbol of love and commitment.
What do you envision for the future of Bo Lee?
Looking ahead, I envision Bo Lee not just as a label but as a global movement. My aspiration extends beyond borders, with the dream of brides from diverse cultures and corners of the world adorning themselves in the magic of our gowns. The future of Bo Lee is a symphony of love, style, and inclusivity.
